pbPiazza is a ground breaking concept using technology to enable landlords, private companies or public organisations to pool space and create a distributed grid of On-Demand Offices.

Like an electricity grid, those connected can tap into extra office space when needed, or if they have a surplus, they can supply space and earn revenue.

pbPiazza locations will be found wherever there is a cluster of offices. Professionals from the surrounding companies, and anyone else in the vicinity, can hold meetings and work in a business and representative environment cost-effectively.

Ecological benefits:

We believe that for every 500m2 of pbPiazza pooled space, surrounding companies need 2,500m2 less office space and therefore less needs to be built, heated, cooled, ventilated or lit. A city district with ten pbPiazza's would have 1,000 tCO2 per annum lower emissions.

Economic cycles, regular organisational changes and nomadic work styles mean that the amount of office space a company needs changes every year, while rental contracts, on the other hand, are rigid and typically run for 5, 10 and even 20 years. Thus, a company will always have either too little or too much space and will permanently be in a state of move management.

To make office assets perform better, a new and more flexible occupancy strategy is needed. What if it were possible to add or reduce meeting rooms and work points to your portfolio at will?

This kind of elasticity requires a local pool of space to be available On Demand. Since offices buildings are normally found next to each other, in dense clusters, a pool of shared space could be established if companies were able to easily submit or withdraw space from it. Within a cluster some companies will have too much space and like to submit. Others may simply like to use the pool. And if there is a vacant properly in the area, the owner might also like to pool temporarily or permanently.

pbPiazza is our solution for creating, using and managing such pooled space autonomously.

Within an office cluster any provider can place space onto the pbPiazza grid; local landlords, railway stations, hotels and business centres. The space has to satisfy basic quality standards and a few requirements such as being readily accessible to the public. To enable easy sharing, simple self service and very low operating costs, the space is then equipped with pbRoom and pbWorkpoint modules. For a typical room, the installation work and configuration for the pb Reservation Portal, takes less than a day.

A local pbPiazza grid is automatically part of a national pbPiazza network that provides users with office space On Demand, anywhere at anytime. For users, pbPiazza space is highly cost-effective and ultra simple to use. Join, Reserve, Enter and Use.

Join

Users apply online directly. You can either choose a trial subscription for 3 months or an annual subscription. A complete organisation can be connected via a link to its corporate directory. Corporations with pbRoom or pbWorkpoint modules are automatically connected to the pbPiazza grid.

Reserve

Search for availability and make a reservation. It only takes a few minutes and can be done from your smartphone. Reservations are confirmed via email, including a room and WLAN access code, and can be automatically updated to your calendar. At the end of the month you get a consolidated bill for your reservations. 

Enter

Each pbPiazza location is fully secured. If you have made a reservation you can simply walk up to the main door or your conference room and click a button on your smartphone to unlock. Alternatively, you can use the touch panels with the entrance codes sent to you and your conference guests.

Use

Only you are authorised to operate a room that you have reserved. Use your smartphone or the room touch panel to control lights, projectors and any other available device. Every pbPiazza works the same way. At the end of your reserved period you will get a reminder to either extend the reservation or make it available for the next user.
