Shared Workpoints
If you are creating a new efficient office, pbWorkpoint modules will help you to use, manage and optimise the shared part of your new office:

At Performance Buildings® we do not believe wholesale desk-sharing is effective, except in a few cases. We do believe, however, that collaborative working requires some shared working space.
On a typical day at least 5% of an office building's occupants are visitors, contract workers and other temporary occupants. In an open office, workers need other space to withdraw to for conference calls or work undisturbed. Cross-department teams may need to work on a project for days or weeks. To avoid blocking-off meeting rooms for such needs, it is helpful to provide flexible, On Demand workspace for individual or team use, together with an effective process for using it.

As users, we have several service and functional demands of a shared workpoint. After searching for, and then reserving the workpoint, telephony and local printer must be configured. Colleagues or support staff should be able to locate us to drop by for a discussion or pass on papers. Visitors need security badges and WLAN access. Last but not least, service providers need to be able to monitor usage and optimise their service levels through their own FM tools.
The pbWorkpoint module has all the components necessary for organising and managing these needs automatically.

Scheduling
pbWorkpoint can handle the simplest to the most complex bookings and synchronises with Lotus Notes or Outlook Exchange. Single and multiple desk reservations for team work are possible. Reservations for external visitors are automatically registered at reception and in the security system. Last minute reservations can be made at strategically located touch panels.

Real Time Space Management
Despite a reservation, a workpoint might not be used for the full duration, or sometimes, not at all. A three-day reservation may need to be extended to a full week. pbWorkpoint provides real time Check-In, Check-Out functionality and, in some cases, automatic occupancy detection to manage space effectively.

Signage
pbWorkpoint provides an instant cockpit view of exactly what is going on and where. Need to find a colleague or know whether a visitor is in today? With strategically placed interactive touch panels or a smartphone, anyone anywhere has a complete overview of what is happening in a Performance Building.

Access Control
Shared workpoints might be located in special security zones for highly confidential work. pbWorkpoint connects with the access control system to update security rights for the duration of a reservation. Similarly visitors can be automatically assigned security rights to access the building and touch down zones for the duration of their visit.

Workpoint Operation
Every pbWorkpoint has the same simple interface for controlling lights and any other optional device that might be installed such as blinds, windows and climate control. You can use a smartphone or the comfort of your own laptop. Use it to select music in your relaxation cell. Need more time? Extend your reservation or find another pbWorkpoint at a touch.

Visitor Comfort
pbWorkpoint makes your visiting collaborators feel comfortable and welcome in your building. It starts with the invitation itself which provides detailed information. They are automatically registered and can Check-In at the front desk or a self-operated kiosk. Optionally, assign long term visitors can an account to make meeting room reservations independent of Groupware.

Service Provider Support
pbWorkpoint makes the life of service providers easier by providing detailed overview of daily reservations and services ordered. Administrators can better manage space by reviewing and optimising utilisation. Additional shared space can be created and configured with a few mouseclicks. Customised business rules can be introduced for workpoint availability.
